Orwell and Huxley had it right. It's surreal watching the end unfold. What exactly do these Project 2025 people think they will be lording over on a destroyed planet? Wait, they believe in the end of days, and God will welcome them even if they have destroyed all of his creation and enacted policies that directly kill other people. Then we have the tech bros you artfully called out here. I can't help but think at the root of this is the survival instinct made lethal by opposable thumbs. On that merry note, I hope you are well.
This cold makes me old
As the world dies in shrieks and whispers
Fools on the rise
Sociopaths our demise
Reality digitized
Poison ingested without whimper.
I wonder in vain at so much pain
Blithely inflicted and ingested
My calm hides a rage
In the invisible cage
As the wisdom of age
Coils at all that should be detested.
Is my alienation complete?
Or shall I still speak? Into this binary void
That feeds on humanity
Are my words but a waste
A reality I must face?
In our last fight for human parity.
A thousand bows of gratitude Geoff... and a million more of resilience & power!

I like to think those thumbs are oppositional rather than opposable but... semantics, semantics... :P
It appears only a small minority can handle the power and responsibility of thumbs. The rest wouldn't even understand what we're talking about!
